Tuscany Villa Betula sits in the original, car-free medieval mountain village of Metato (Camaiore), in the province of Lucca — nestled in the gentle slopes of the Tuscan Apuan Alps, on a western spur of Monte Prana (1221 m). Tuscany Villa Betula liegt in dem ursprünglichen, autofreien mittelalterlichen Bergdorf Metato (Camaiore) in der Provinz Lucca – eingebettet in die sanften Hänge der toskanischen Apuanischen Alpen, an einem westlichen Ausläufer des Monte Prana (1221 m).
The village's name comes from the traditional chestnut-drying houses once used across the region. Its 18th-century core, with a historic church, bell tower and fountain, still defines the scene today — 400 metres above sea level, with an extraordinary view over the surrounding hills. Der Ortsname geht auf die traditionellen Kastanientrocknungshäuser zurück, die einst in der ganzen Region genutzt wurden. Der Dorfkern aus dem 18. Jahrhundert mit historischer Kirche, Glockenturm und Brunnen prägt das Bild bis heute – auf 400 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel, mit einer außergewöhnlichen Aussicht über die umliegenden Hügel.

Metato ist ein autofreies Dorf: Mit dem Auto kommt man nur bis zum Dorfparkplatz, die letzten Meter zur Villa geht es zu Fuß — nur 2 Gehminuten. Genau das macht den Ort so ruhig und ursprünglich.
